Quick breakdown of a room I designed for Deus Ex: Mankind Divided.

Early on I got the idea to make it feel like a garden with natural lighting even though we're underground, to surprise players and give them a nice change of tone in this mostly concrete and metal map.
I did a bunch of pencil sketches of details and mechanical designs, as much for me as it was for 3D artists.
I rarely do that but I decided to model the ceiling structure and a bit of the furniture myself. The ceiling piece was a counter point to DX's neon lights. They're like "neon shadows", here.
